Biomimikids
JUNIOR BIOMIMIKIDS
We host biomimicry workshops for kids age 10-15 in Joburg and Cape Town. Through our partnerships with the Two Oceans Aquarium, the Save Our Seas Shark Centre and the Joburg Zoo, we will be running regular biomimicry learning opportunities for kids. These are open workshops exploring the aquarium/zoo through the lens of biomimicry! The workshops are run by some of our biomimcrySA team and the educators at the aquarium/zoo. If you would like to integrate biomimikids programs into your school then let us know.
The next Biomimikids Program will be held in Cape Town as part of the April 2013 school holidays at the Save Our Seas Shark Centre in Kalk Bay. The Biomimikids Holiday Club program at Save Our Seas Shark Centre is open to any kids age 10-15yrs old. Dates 4-5 April, 9h30-14h30. To book email demaine2[a]gmail.com. Cost R300pp.
The Biomimikids program also includes an introduction to biomimicry, discovering biomimicry in the aquarium/zoo, working in groups on design challenges. Kids will also be introduced to the global Biomimicry Youth Design Challenge.
