LOCAL WILDLIFE

  • Chundu Island Camp has prime access to the Zambezi National Park
  • The park is teeming with buffalo, zebra, impala, kudu, giraffe, waterbuck, crocodile and hippo and also has a number of lions, wild dogs, hyenas and leopards
  • The camp also operates daily river cruises to experience the breathtaking beauty from the water
  • Each cruise offers a variety of interesting sights and sounds, particularly the presence of elephants along the river bank

The Biomimicry Expedition includes:

  • Collection from Victoria Falls airport on 7 Sep & return on 11 Sep 2014
  • Visit to the magnificent Victoria Falls with local guides
  • Return transfer to Chundu Island Camp (arriving 7 Sep, departing 11 Sep 2014)
  • Accommodation at Chundu Island Camp in twin/double rooms (Note: rooms will be shared with other suitable expedition participants or a single supplement applies)
  • All meals and some beverages at Chundu Island Camp
  • Bush walks and 2 safari activities/day (river cruises/game drives)

ABOUT VICTORIA FALLS

  • Victoria Falls, or Mosi-oa-Tunya (the Smoke that Thunders), is a maginificent waterfall in southern Africa on the Zambezi River at the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe
  • While it is neither the highest nor the widest waterfall in the world,it is classified as the largest, based on its width of 1,708 metres (5,604 ft) and height of 108 metres (354 ft)
  • Resulting in the world's largest sheet of falling water

  • The Zambezi is the 4th-longest river in Africa and the largest river flowing into the Indian Ocean from Africa
